What a great weekend in London, with family, our friend Phil and as it was marathon weekend bumped into lots of other people we knew. The weather was absolutely fantastic with glorious sunshine and our hotel at the Premier Inn, County Hall next to the London Eye was truly a perfect spot.
We came down on the Friday evening so we could have a full day in London on the Saturday before the marathon on the Sunday. On the Saturday morning we went to the marathon expo so I could collect my running number. While I was looking round the others enjoyed driving the remote control BMW cars. We then we had a trip on the Emirates cable car across the Thames to Greenwich, what a great trip with some fantastic views of the London skyline! We then had a bit to eat on a Greenwich Park bench in the sunshine, while we all did a bit of people watching.
The afternoon was spent with a wonder round the packed shopping streets of Oxford Road and Regent Road, we had to take the kids to Hamleys toy store.
After running and enjoying the spectacle of the London Marathon we had a relaxing ride on the London Eye.
Before coming home on the Monday we enjoyed a drink in Harrods Disney Café and walk to Buckingham Palace, through St James’s Park and passed Big Ben.
A total excellent weekend, hope to do it all again sometime.
