I’ve been quiet and subdued on my Blog this spring as my running isn’t where I’d like it to be. I’m still fairly fit but not quite as fit as I’d like to be. I’ve managed 8 marathons over the first 3 months of year all with reasonable times and for many runners this would be very impressive stuff.
My problem is nothing muscular, it is my left knee joint. I keep trying to train as much as I can for my beloved Brathay 10in10 this May. I so long to complete it again for the fifth time but I’m seriously concerned my left knee will let me down. Once again it is sore after doing Manchester Marathon last weekend and now I’m having to rest it again.
I have Boston Marathon in the grand USA next week and then my 10th London the week after. I’m so excited to be eventually having the opportunity to do the famous Boston marathon after wanting to do it for many years. My plan is to complete these 2 marathons and train less to hopefully rest the knee joint enough that the pain will subside.
For the couple of weeks leading up to the Brathay 10in10 I plan to have further rest so hopefully I will arrive for day 1 on 12th May with a knee that is as rested as much as possible and hopefully it will hold up for not just 1 marathon but 10 on the bounce.
