Renamed in 2017 as the ASICS Windermere Marathon it will take place on Sunday 20th May 2018. Also known as “The Beautiful Marathon” the scale and beauty of this challenge will literally take you breath away. You’ll get to see the stunning Lake District scenery as you make your way around the anti-clockwise lap of Lake Windermere, Britain’s largest lake. The course is an officially measured 26.2 mile road marathon.
This event is the Brathay Trust’s flagship fundraiser. Over the last 10 years it’s generated over £1 million allowing the Brathay Trust to help around 7000 vulnerable children, young people and their families each year. Get involved in this fundraising challenge and help change the lives of 1,000s of young people. This marathon is solely set up and organised by the Brathay Trust to raise the much needed funds to help it continue its charity work.
Alternatively if you don’t fancy running, you can provide arm chair support by popping a morale boosting donation into the accounts of the men and women who are running Brathay’s incredibly tough 10 marathons in 10 days endurance challenge. Or come along on the day to Brathay Hall’s Open Day with Brathay’s junior races, stalls, entertainment and activities, food and drinks for all the family.
