Finishing time
3 hours 57 minutes 10 seconds
Weather
Rain and rain followed by rain & drizzle
At least it was calm & cool.
The weather called the tune on a day of nerves for me as this would be furthest that I have ever run in 3 days. It was hard going for the first half, I was unsure how I would cope and the weather didn’t help my moral. It was great to get to the top of the hill at 22 miles and a spring came into my step knowing there was little over 4 miles to go.
I managed 5 minutes in the icy bath, surprised myself!
Yesterday I had physio after tea and it wasn’t very comfy lying on my full stomach while I had my legs prodded and squeezed. Today I had my physio before tea which seemed to work much better for me. This event is the first time I have had physio and it isn’t what I expected. I was expecting a pleasant massage but it’s definitely not that! Physio’s Dave and Christian tonight dished out the treatment. They find the muscles that have tightened up and apply pressure to soften them. This makes me tense up my muscles, I find it funny when they say “Relax”. I must say a big thank you to Body Rehab they are doing a great job here looking after us all.
Today’s Highlight
My fast last 4 miles, 3 at 7 mins 30 secs and mile 26 in 7 mins 15 secs WOW.
Today’s Low Point
The first half, the weather was depressing and I was a bit dehydrated and nervous as it was further than I have ever run before in 3 days.
