I woke up this morning to find my right shin all red and swollen. This is something I’ve never experienced before. I got some ice from the bar and some anti inflammatory tablets from another runner. I massaged my shin with the ice till 15 minutes before the start of the race. I decided to wear my ipod to distract me from my aches and pains. As it was the last day I went for it from the start. At half way my time was 1 hour 39 mins and I knew I was on for something special. The weather was still very cold but not quite freezing, light cloud and a fresh breeze. My aches and pains got no worse and I finished in 3 hours 28 minutes 31 seconds
I would like to thank Foxy for putting on such a special event and spending so much time stood out in the cold counting us round the lake. It was truely a great event, lovely venue, well organised and there was some wonderful banter between a bunch of like minded runners, simply a very enjoyable 4 days.
Quadzilla done!
My combined results 15 hours 40 seconds, 9th out of 45 finishers.
All I need to do now is recover!
