Weather
We had a very cloudy, dry, mild start with a fairly strong breeze going down the lake. After about 6 miles light rain started which stayed with us for the rest of the run. It stayed mild and I didn’t need to wear a caghoule which surprised me.
Like my first day last time I took the run at a comfortable pace for me, slower than I would normally run one marathon but didn’t hold my stride back because I don’t believe this would have any benefit. I was pleased generally how the run went and I was even able to run up all the steeper hills. I doubt I will be doing that in a couple of days.
The ice bath was broken this morning but unluckily they fixed it while we were out running so no excuss for me to not have a dip. I managed 6 and a half minutes, it never gets any easier!
Very pleased to get a negative split.
Today’s Highlight
The wonderful scent of wild garlic between Hawkshead and Newby Bridge!
Today’s Low Point
Running down hill after “Ice Cream Mountain” at 22 miles when I sudddenly got a sharp pain behind my right knee cap. It stayed for a couple of miles and almost made me hobble before subsiding. I hope it doesn’t return tomorrow.
