I love Rhubarb!
And so does Yuk-Lam, Abbey and Lucas!!!
Well while I’m not running, I need to talk about something.
Rhubarb crumble and custard is one of my favourite deserts and I love growing it in the garden.
I have several different varieties in my garden, from Timperley Early (good for an early crop and first pie of the year), champagne (no not the drink, always seems to flower and turn to seed, not the best sticks), Sutton (I know little about this one only planted it last year), Raspberry Ripple ( sounds more like an ice cream, it has some fantastic deep red stalks) and the very large Victoria (massive stalks and leaves, my favourite because of its size, always amazes me how big it gets in just a couple of months through the spring).
And all you thought I did was run, eh?
It is now the start of the season where you can pull the sticks and make a wonderful crumble. After a long run I think there is nothing better than a good meal with rhubarb crumble and custard, fantastic!
