Three weeks later and I swapped the bustle of the city of London for the scenic beauty of the Lake District.

My plan was simple to enjoy a long run, soak up the atmosphere of day race, the scenery and not bother about the time. I was also making the race an experiment to see if running within my comfort zone would allow me not to be aching the next day and instead be fresh enough to run. In a completely different way to London the atmosphere of the day was brilliant, I love being in the Lake District and running this race.
My experiment was a success and I managed to be free of aches on Monday and went out for a run. All I need now is for the Brathay Trust to offer me a place for the 10 in 10 for 2011.
