Roller Coaster ! ! ! ! ! ?

The Brathay 10 marathons in 10 days event is affectionately known by runners as the 10 in 10 or even TiT. What does that make me if I complete the challenge, eh? Hummmm say no more.

Anyhow my training is continuing and my sprained ankle at Christmas now seems just a distant memory. However I have picked up a sore right knee which I will have to keep an eye on. The week before last, I did 100 miles including a fairly quick marathon and felt fine. This week I did the London 50k Ultra and my legs feel shot. I can not seem to keep my training consistent at the moment, it ressembles a roller coaster.

I hope to calm things down over the coming weeks to a more consistant weekly mileage. All I can do is keep the training going as best I can, then plan to have a good long taper before the event. It seems if you go into the TiT carrying an injury odds are against you, so for the closing couple of months injury avoidence is the priority and I plan to finish with 3 weeks of significant taper.
