Weather
Milder than yesterday and brighter. The start was dry and there were less showers. Except between miles 15 to 17 where there was a very heavy shower.
I really enjoyed the 6 mile point today, I was running through a wooded area, there were no other runners about or traffic. It was wonderfully peaceful and perfectly tranquil. To make the “Malcy Moment” even better the woodland was carpeted with flowering wild garlic and the strong scent was something very special.
Great the see Yuk-Lam & the kids at Bowness (20 miles). It was fun having Lucas run with me even though he fell over.
I went past a little café at the waters edge in Ambleside it had a sign up “Scatter Kindness” which I thought was a nice thought.
After I came back and had had some soup, it was time again for the icy bath. I managed a full 2 minutes today.
Howard Clark did 2 no. 10 minute sessions in the bath and I have named him the Icy Man.
Two of my toes are sore so in the evening I stuck my feet in the icy bath for 5 minutes. It cooled them off and made them more comfortable.
Today’s Highlight
It was great to run the latter stages of the race so strong, even just managed a negative split!
Today’s Low Point
Legs a bit sore after the run, I think I probably went a bit too fast today and will probably pay to price for it tomorrow. My plan is to take tomorrow much easier to compensate.
