10in10, Day 4

Finishing time
4 hours 7 minutes 11 seconds

Weather
Awful persistent rain, cool with a head wind for the first half of the race.

I woke up today at my usual time of 6am feeling incredibly sleepy so I lay in bed to 8am without being able to get back to sleep.
Waiting at the start all I wanted to do was go to sleep. At the beginning of the run my hamstrings felt very tight and it took until I got to Hawkshead (4 miles) before I got loosened up. I decided that I should take today very carefully and ran conservatively. I reached half way in a pretty slow time for me of 2 hours 9 minutes. My legs felt fine at half way and I decided I could push on a bit harder. I completed the second half in a very pleasing time of 1 hour 58 minutes, making my third negative split in 3 days.
The wet weather today get to my inner thighs and I have some very sore chaffing. I hope the Sudocrem can work it wonders tonight. The Rehab Team vehicle was out on the course again to day. I really appreciated some Vaseline at about 17 miles to curb the chaffing.
I also got a welcome the screams form the Rehab girls from there car at 23 miles which was funny and kept me awake towards the end.
I need some sleep and get my head together for day 5. I can’t wait to get day 5 out of the way and then I’m over half way.

Today’s Highlight
Having my mum & dad out on the course cheering me on and taking photos.

Today’s Low Point
Definitely the weather, it couldn’t have been more depressing!
