Weather
A lot better today, a dry start, milder and calm. It was the first day where I didn’t have to wear a waterproof top. There were a few showers and a bit of drizzle but that just kept me a good running temperature.

I was really happy to get to day 5 and now I have finished it, I have a wonderful feeling having completed half of the challenge.
Today’s run was by far my best. Yes my legs are sore and I have some uncomfortable chaffing but it is my fourth day in a row with a negative split.
I’ve felt very hungry today. I was running at 4 miles and my tummy was rumbling, I was given 2 kitkats, thanks Aly! This evening I had some extra main course and 2 Lemon Tarts & I was still hungry. Hummm, sounds like the “Very Hungry Caterpillar” book.
Robin from Team Nutrition came up to the Shackleton Lodge where we are all staying. He had come to bring us some more energy drinks, jells and a new recovery drink for straight after each run which you add water and is like a strawberry milk shake. He is very knowledgeable about his business and a very fascinating man to talk to. We had an interesting discussion about water bottles, well it was interesting to him and me! For all my water stations I’ve been using his Wild Berry Electrolyte drink and have found it very pleasant to drink and it is definitely doing the job!
A big thank you to Robin and Team Nutrition.

Today’s Highlight
At about mile 14 the Body Rehab girls were cheering and screaming at me from the road side. Just like proper Cheer Leaders, they just need some giant Poms Poms.
8 minutes in the ice bath today, another Malcy PB!

Today’s Low Point
Overtaking a walker at 25 miles who blew cigar smoke in my face as I passed him, yuk!
