This is just one of the wonderful things Lucas comes out with. It was a shame it was 1am in the morning! We are having a weekend at Dalhouise Castle near Edinburgh to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. A weekend away and nothing to do with running, yes I can sometimes manage it. We came here 9 years ago to celebrate our first wedding anniversary before Abbey was born and it seemed fitting to come back. Anyhow what Lucas meant, poor lad, was he had tangled up his bed sheets and needed them straightening.
Today we have taken the Park & Ride bus into Edinburgh, been up the Royal Mile, inside Edinburgh Castle and browsed the shops and gardens in the shadow of the castle. I think the kids have enjoyed it and we have had a pleasant day in the warm sun shine albeit a long day on our feet and quite tiring. We even bumped into Pete Bennett, a winner of Big Brother 7 in 2006 and got a picture of him with Yuk-Lam. I’m sure this pleased Yuk-Lam. The day finished with an Italian meal at GTs Trattoria on the Royal Mile. A lovely family restaurant with great food and quick, friendly service.
We had stumbled on having our holiday at the same time as the Edinburgh Fringe. This is an event I knew little about but quickly learned. Edinburgh is full of shows and street acts where actors show off their talents in the hope of fame and fortune. Edinburgh was so alive with all this going on. We saw numerous street acts, they were fabulous. We also took the kids to watch a show called “The Just So Stories” at the Red Table Theatre which they thoroughly enjoyed.
I’m sat in the castle writing this after putting the kids to bed and while listening to Lucas sobbing. We bought him a medieval figure he wanted in Edinburgh Castle, anyhow he has now decided he had picked the wrong one and wants to go back to change it. It is a day that has started & finished with Lucas, hummm!
