0 to 100

At the beginning of 2011 I’d sprained my ankle and was desperately frustrated that I couldn’t run. This was made worse by the fact I should have been training for the 10in10 in May. For the first week in 2011 I didn’t run a single mile.

Happy New Year, its 2012!

This year I’m feeling good, fit and want to run . . . lots! I feel like I need to run a block of high mileage as part of my training for the doubles and quad in the coming few months and also simply because this year I can.

I have decided the first week of this year to be a complete contrast to last year. My aim is to run 100 miles in the first week of 2012. As well as this being good training for my forthcoming events and enjoyment, it is a distraction from the gap in my marathon schedule which is making me feel like my life is on hold until they resume. My goal is very definitely to run 100 marathons so I almost feel like life is on pause while I’m waiting to run another marathon and start counting again.

It has been a great week running, it has focused my attention and my legs have come through it really well. I managed to do 100 miles. I’m very pleased and 1 week closer to running a marathon again.

Above is a picture of me in Anglesey on 2nd Jan after my second run of the year. Even in winter Anglesey is a beautiful part of the world and I love to be there and running in its picturesque countryside.
