Surreal Sheep Experience

0

I had a surreal sheep experience this morning on my early morning run. I set out from home as dawn broke, which I often do, it was very cold, clear and icy underfoot. I crossed the canal and made my way along the Glazebrook trail, crossing the East Lancs Road, a route I’m very familiar with. Just the other side of the East Lancs is a large field which often has sheep in it. Today it was full of roughly a couple of hundred sheep all of them at the far end of the field. One of them “Barred” so for a bit of fun I “Barred” back. It returned another “Barr” and then another got involved and “Barred”. I “Barred” again, more and more sheep started looking at me as I ran towards them and the more I “Barred”, the more they “Barred”. As I crossed the field, I had a hundred plus sheep looking at me and dozens of them “Barring”. The noise built up and reached quite a crescendo by the time I had reached the sheep at the far end of the field. Finally, I got to the style to leave their field, the sheep had steadily walked over towards me and they were all staring at me! Seems like I have made lots of new friends!
